Oldham County's First No-Kill Organization
Helping Oldham County Animals & the Community Since 1986
We're facing a crisis! Animal shelters across the country are at capacity, and rising costs for food, supplies, and medical care are making it harder than ever. Your Giving Tuesday donation will be DOUBLED through our matching program - helping us provide low-cost spay/neuter clinics, our Hungry Paws food bank, and essential care for animals in need.

Meals on Wheels for Hungry Paws!!!
Many seniors count on their pets for companionship especially those who live alone. With many seniors living at or below the poverty line some struggle with the cost of pet ownership. Some will share their meals with their pets or feed them before they eat themselves. This can cause the senior and their pet to become undernourished and underweight. The Humane Society of Oldham County and Feeders Pet Supply are committed to supporting our homebound senior neighbors and their beloved pets by providing pet food, supplies and basic vet care. As well as having a caring animal lover check in on them.

Benefits of Pet Ownership to Seniors...
Pets provide structure and routine which can help seniors avoid unhealthy behavior like not wanting to get out of bed.
Pets can reduce stress levels in people of any age. Interaction with animals counteracts stress by lowering heart rate, stress hormones, anxiety and fear levels.
Owning a pet can help keep seniors more active and increase physical activity.
Dogs can provide a certain level of security for seniors by helping alert them when something is out of the ordinary.
